Dr. Vladimir Miklič, Principal Research Fellow, Department Head since 2006. He has worked at the Department since May 1990. Before appointment as Deparment Head his field of research was seed processing and production of sunflower hybrids. From 1996 to 2000 he had several visits to India, where he had spent over 2 years on monitoring the production of seed and winter breeding generation, and educating Indian experts in sunflower breeding and seed production. In addition, he spent over a year in Argentina 2001-2007. Member of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops since 2005, and a member of the Assembly of National Laboratory for Seed Testing in 2007 and 2008. He is also a member of the International Sunflower Association Boаrd, Board of Oilcrops and Edible Oils Production -Processing and Distribution Group, Industrial Crops Business Organisation, and the Secretary General of Serbian Association of Breeders and Seed Producers. As the Institute representative, he visited Institutes in Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Argentina, China, Uzbekistan, India, Iran. He visited China in 2004 and 2009, holding a series of lectures upon invitation at the Institutes of Luoung and Baichenng. As the Serbian representative, in 2009 he participated in F.A.O. - The Regional Consultation and Workshop on Seed Production, in Budapest, Hungary. Authored numerous research papers and 3 monograph chapters. Co-authored 18 sunflower hybrids released abroad, and 7 sunflower hybrids released in Serbia. Participated in several national and international scientific events, such as the 17th International Sunflower Conference held in Cordoba, Spain in 2008, and the International Symposium on Sunflower Genetic Resources, in Kuşadasi, Turkey in 2011, as the session moderator.
