Dr. Dragana Miladinović, Principal Research Fellow. She was born in Šid in 1970. She graduated at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad in 1993, at the Department of Field and Vegetable Crops, where in 1997 she received her MSc in Genetics and Plant Breeding. She defended her doctoral dissertation in Plant Physiology in 1999 at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade. She received further education at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie de Toulouse, where in 1998 she defended her Master's thesis in the field of Cell and Molecular Biology. She completed post doctoral specialist training at Cornell University in USA, where she stayed as Norman Borlaug Scholarship holder. She started working at the Institute in 1996. Since 2007, she has had a teaching position at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad, working as professor of Plant Cell and Tissue Culture. She has been a member of the Serbian Expert Council for Biosafety since 2001, and Vice President since 2007, as well as the member of the Scientific Board of Biotechnology and Agriculture since 2010. She has coordinated the FAO ESCORENA Sunflower Research Network since 2010. She authored or co-authored over 207 research papers, two chapters in international monographs, 3 books and one textbook. She co-authored one patent and one sunflower hybrid. She was appointed Assistant Director for Science at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in 2009-2010, and reappointed for the same position in 2013.
