New EPPN (European Plant Phenotyping Network) International Projects Approved

European Plant Phenotyping Network 7th programme framework

During the following year, researchers from the Biotechnology Department will continue co-operation with colleagues from the Biological Research Center (BRC) and the Cereal Research Institute (CRI) through approved projects funded by the FP7 Program. These two institutions are included in the European network and have robotic platforms for contemporary evaluation of phenotypic traits during growth and development of plants. read more…

Online first

Leading national scientific journal Ratarstvo i povrtarstvo, published by Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, has introduced Online first publication of papers. Peer-reviewed, accepted and copyedited manuscripts are posted at the journal’s web page (www.nsseme.com/journal.html) including doi and date of electronic publication, enabling their distribution for early dissemination of research results. After they are included into an issue and galley proofed for publishing, the papers will be removed from this location. Online first papers may graphically differ from the printed version.

First International Legume Society (LS) Conference

Prva konferencija Međunarodnog društva za mahunarkeFirst International Legume Society (LS) Conference, organized and hosted by Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad was held on 9 – 11 of May, 2013 in Hotel Park in Novi Sad. International Legume Society was officially established and registered on April 1st, 2013, with headquarters in Cordoba, Spain, headed by the president Prof. Dr. Diego Rubiales, one of the most significant world experts in the field of legumes research.

On behalf of the organizers, Dr. Vuk Djordjević welcomed the participants and announced Dr. Diego Rubiales, who pointed out that such a great organization of the conference provides an excellent opportunity for meeting old friends and new generations. The fifth meeting of the Working Group on Grain Legumes (ECPGR)

Peti sastanak Radne grupe za zrnene mahunarke (ECPGR)ECPGR (The European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources) organized the fifth meeting on GLWG (Grain Legumes Working Group) in cooperation with Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad (Serbia) on 7th and 8th of May in Novi Sad. Total of 24 participants from 22 countries attended the meeting, which is much more than at the previous event held in Portugal in 2007. ECPGR representative from Rome, Mr. Lorenzo Maggioni was also present.

For the first time there were representatives from outside of Europe (Israel), and certain countries (Belarus, Estonia, Cyprus, Turkey and Ukraine) also participated at the meeting for the first time. New issue of Ratarstvo i povrtarstvo published

Read articles on seed yield and protein content in sunflower, okra in Thailand, new sweet pepper hybrids in Azerbaijan, growing cabbage as a double crop in Serbia, or cyanogenic glycosides in linseed published in the current issue of scientific journal Ratarstvo i povrtarstvo / Field and Vegetable Crops Research 2012: 49 (1).

This is the first issue electronically edited and published using software E-ur developed by CEON, which has significantly improved editing processes as well as the quality of the published papers.
