Laboratory for seed testing was reaccredited on audit from 28 and 29 May 2015 according to International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) quality standards. ISTA is an independent and objective international organization that aims at developing and publishing standard procedures for seed testing. There are 207 member laboratories in 76 countries, and only half of those laboratories are ISTA accredited.
Laboratory became member of ISTA when Institute was established in 1938. It is reaccredited every three years since 2000, making this reaccreditation sixth in a row. It confirms that the Laboratory is competent for certain tests at the international level and assures our customers that our tests and services are accurate, reliable and objective.
Laboratory for seed testing performs the following seed quality analyses: seed purity, germination, moisture content, seed health, GM testing, identification of cultivars and hybrids of various plant species.
