Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission gave presentation on its “Support to the Enlargement” on 9 December 2014 in the Amphitheatre of the Central building of the University of Novi Sad. JRC provides scientific and technological support for the European Union enlargement and integration process. This one-day seminar was organized by JRC, Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the University of Novi Sad. The main goal of the presentation was an overview of JRC activities and research resources and capacities of the University of Novi Sad.
Assistant Minister, Prof. Dr. Viktor Nedović, spoke about activities and cooperation between JRC and the Ministry’s Sector for European integrations and projects. Luciana Zanier explained JRC enlargement support and cooperation with Serbia, while Francesco Scaffidi conveyed opportunities for researchers, recruitment and trainings at JRC. Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vesković, informed on the structure of the University and activities of its researchers in international projects. There were also lectures on bioenergy and European Flood Awareness System (EFAS).
