Despite unfavourable weather, Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops Novi Sad gathered around 2,500 people at Rimski Šančevi on 5 September 2014. Numerous government officials, foreign ambassadors, national and international researchers and agricultural producers, were among visitors of our Field Day.
Guests were greeted by the director of the Institute, Dr. Jegor Miladinović, and his associates. Remarkable number of foreign partners was justified by the fact that Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops has created about thousand cultivars and hybrids, from which one half is cultivated around the world, in more than 30 countries.
All of the information and recommendations on seed purchase of NS cultivars and hybrids, as well as technical advice of Institute’s employees were available on decorated stands of the laboratories and departments.
Lectures on NS seed assortment and new research results in the current and following season were held by experts in seed production, breeding, plant protection and production technology (maize, sunflower, rapeseed, small grains, sugar beet, soybean, forage crops, vegetables and alternative crops). Unfavourable weather did not prevent interested agricultural producers to visit the demo trials of maize, sunflower, soybean, sugar beet and sorghum.
Fascinated by the modern, fully-equipped Seed Distribution Centre, agricultural producers were convinced one more time in the stability of this largest and best national seed production company.
